Motor Trend chose the 911 C2S as 2012's Best Driver's Car and the 911 C4S as 2013's Best Driver's Car... but there are two new über -911 variants that could have a shot in 2014 - the Turbo S and GT3. It's still a year off, but which 911 do you think they'll pick as the 2014 Best Driver's Car? Place your bets!

I know that they only assemble a group of candidates that are on/about to be on sale and that have been redesigned or significantly updated. However, I don't know of a rule that dissuades Motor Trend from considering multiple variants of a given car in the same test. Both of these cars meet these rules and, like most Best Driver's Car contenders in recent years, are competent performers that cost six figures, so I can't imagine why they wouldn't make it into 2014's field. And it'd be a little boring if only one 991 competed for an inevitable win, right?

Granted, Motor Trend could also ask for/be sent a Turbo instead of a Turbo S, so there's that.

Both of these cars have rear-wheel-steering as well as 3.8L boxer engines that are mated to PDK transmissions. However, the GT3 is an RR track warrior with an N/A engine that makes 475 HP and redlines at 9,000 RPM, while the Turbo S is more of a Swiss army knife that has active aero as well as a twin-turbocharged motor that redlines at 7,200 RPM and sends 560 HP through all four wheels.

HAHAHAHAHA, no fucking way.
No offense to the C7, but the guilty parties for the myth that American cars universally suck dick was precisely started by the US press, Motor Trend at the head of it. Remember the C6 Z06 back in 2011 I think? That's what they're gonna do too. Erase it at the first opportunity so they can fellate German cars (VAG at the head) more.

The Turbo has never been a better driver's car than the GT3. That's not changing.
